| The
annual Summer BBQ was held on Friday the 13th of May. Despite the
fairly inclement weather an enjoyable evening was had by staff and
students alike. Special guests for the evening were the Year 6 class and
their teacher Miss Daly, who helped them settle into Senior School life.
After a delicious BBQ supper the students enjoyed some
party games organised by the senior students. Particularly popular
was the Inter-House Tug of War which was won by Minerva
House!!!!!! A big hit on the night was also the Limbo Competition
which was also won by students from Minerva House!!!! Yes - that
is not a misprint, Minerva won both events.
After the party games the students adjourned to the lounge for a vocal performance by Brandon assisted by Gonzalo on drums and by the staff band featuring Peter Onslow, Ste Jones, Katheryn Beckett, Fred Aminot, David Chapuis, Mike Gillan and Alberto Hernandez. The staff's performance proved very popular with the crowd who sang along with and danced to Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall", "Riding Along in my Automobile" and "Brown Eyed Girl" . Unconfirmed rumours abound that the staff will be taking a turn at the Montreux Jazz Festival .... :-) Then it was on to the disco for a bop to the tunes of DJ's for the night Ed and Chris.
