Years 1 and 2 Visit Gruyere

During the Summer Term, Year 2 studied "Dairy Farming" and Year 1 studied "Homes". To enhance their topic work the two year groups joined together and, on the 6th of June, spent the day in Gruyère.

First they visited the castle to learn about old buildings and what the castle was made from and how people lived long ago. After a picnic lunch the children visited the cheese factory in Gruyère to see how cheese used to be made and how it is made today. The children were also able to take some cheese home for tea!
