There are over 50 students involved in the L.V.S. with a noticeable amount who are going to complete the award by the end of the Summer Term once they have completed their expedition which takes place next term.

Activities in school this term have included:

Off Piste Safety

An off-piste safety day took place in Leysin on the 29th of January.  Guide Yvan Duc instructed Lizzie Plumb, Chris Hutton, Isabel Edwards, Dylan Pilarski, Nikolai Nikitenko, Miss Bruce, Miss Eastham, Mr Hill and Mr Lineham in issues of safety when skiing off-piste.  The programme included where to get avalanche information and how to assess the hazard on the hill, off piste skiing and measurement of slope angle, avalanche transceiver work and probe work.

Les Grangettes clean-up (cancelled with due to bird flu), House Plays, visiting the old people at Burrier, helping in the Junior Department in the French department.

Activities next term will include:

Cleaning Les Mosses after the ski season, expeditions for years 8,9 and 11.
