The French, History and Art departments combined their talents and resources this term to create a cross-curricular workshop on Monday the 7th of March for Year 8. They invited a local painter, Mr Raoul Poriau of Chardonne, who is famous for his water colours of local landscapes and historical buildings to inspire the students about the locality they live in.
After a brief introduction on his life, his inspirations and his technique, Mr Poriau assisted by Mrs Bartlett conducted a workshop on water colour technique with some of the students. At the same time, Madame Bodenmann and Mr Gillan conducted another workshop on the locality and aspects of historical interest.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the experience which allowed them to broaden their perspectives and knowledge about the country they live in.
