The Social Services committee have had a busy term. To catch up with what they have been doing let's take a peep at their Committee Report, March 2003.
"Back
in January, we began to work for the Spring Fair. During the coming weeks
we were all very busy organising this big event. Letters were sent out to
inform parents, food and drinks were ordered and the event was planned. We
received many second items such as books, videos, jewellery, ski clothes and
bric-à-brac. Thank you to everyone who generously donated items.
Finally on Saturday the 1st of March, the big day took place. The sun
shone all day, the money came pouring in and both stall owners and customers had
happy faces. If you have a look at the photos from the "Spring Fair
Photos" link you will have a chance to re-live the pleasure of this
successful day.
A grand total of 5,000 chf was raised from the Spring Fair! 1, 500 has been sent
to the Katia Van Weel foundation, 1,500 to Global Harmony and the remaining
2,000 will be sent to the victims of the Iraqi war.
Thank you to forms, teachers, parents, friends and to our hard working domestic
staff who made this day such a great success.
The Social Services Committee would also like to thank the Student Council for
running the very successful Valentine's Day Disco and to Year 11 who organised a
bake sale and the selling of roses on Valentine's Day, raising 244 chf.
Happy holidays from the Social Services Committee and keep up that
fund-raising:-)"
