Curriculum Activities

Amongst the many activities this term in the chalet were the following:


SKI LESSONS AT LES MOSSES

All children from Year 1 upwards go skiing for 1 afternoon per week as part of their P.E. curriculum. Years 4, 5 & 6 go on Tuesday afternoons and Years 1, 2 & 3 go on Thursday afternoons.  The children receive tuition and work towards badges with the Swiss Ski School.

Nina, Georgina, Vincent, Erik, Maya, Bailey, Georgia, Daan, & Isla enjoy their skiing lesson at Les Mosses.


RECEPTION CLASS

Reception children enjoyed rôle play situations and reading.

Camilla & Maaike, Alice  & Gustavo, Carolina & Victor, Gustavo & Maaike, Nathalia, Julia & Cameron, Alexander, Camilla, Mrs Peters, Utkarsh & Carolina.


YEAR 1


Year 1 have studied "Sound" for their Science topic and have learnt how deaf people use sign language.  In the pictures below the children are singing "I can see a rainbow" using sign language to the children in the Reception class, who had made a rainbow as part of their "Weather" topic.

 

Year 1 enjoy using their sign language skills.


YEAR 2


Year 2 used the beautiful school grounds and their flowers to provide art work for their classrooms and Easter cards.

Maria, Patrick, Johanna & Jessica enjoy their drawing class outside.


YEAR 4


Year 4 enjoyed studying "Life in other Countries" and "World Festivals".  Here they are with some carnival masks they made.

Cameron, Euan, Alex, Lennart, Sophia, Jessica, Clara & Alexandra,Jenny, Danielle, Celine, Michelle, Alec, Craig & Thomas enjoyed making their masks!


YEAR 6


During their Art & Craft lessons, Year 6 enjoyed making volcanoes from papier-mâché.  Using a scientific technique they were able to make them erupt!
