Madame Chambovey and her team experienced yet another busy term of fund-raising. Here is just a brief synopsis of the events which took place this term:
Mimosa Selling
Nick Hippenmeyer and Valentin Pierburg showed that they had a real talent for
selling flowers, raising 664 Sfr worth of Mimosa in just one half day. Well done
boys! Thanks too go to our other sellers Catherine Mugnier, Maria Esteve,
Janelle Pilarski, Faisal Baeshan and Christina Stead.
Red Nose Day
Mrs Baerfuss organised a very humourous and successful Red Nose Day held
on Monday the 4th of February. A very enjoyable Monday morning assembly materialised where the
"Clown Doctor" from the Theodora Foundation explained, with volunteers
Mr Bawden, Mrs Baerfuss and Andre Verster, about her daily work in hospitals
which consists of amusing and distracting sick and terminally ill
children. Thank you to everyone who bought a red nose and helped raise the
grand total of 840 Sfr.

Balloon
Launch
The annual Balloon Launch provided lots of colour and excitement. 224
balloons were sold and 55 tags have already come back from destinations as far away as
Warsaw, Berlin, Dresden and
Prague. At the beginning of June we will award a prize to the person whose
balloon travelled the farthest. Hard luck to those people whose balloons
never made it out of the school grounds! Better luck next year folks!

Up, up and away! Germany here we come!
Thanks to everyone who helped out with fund-raising activities this term. 4,627 Sfr was raised this term for our charities.
This term 8,435 Sfr was donated to our various charities. In particular 2,400 Sfr was donated to Action Aid, 2,000 Sfr was donated to the Global Harmony Foundation, 1,000 Sfr was sent to the Theodora Foundation, and 960 Sfr to the Mimosa organisation.
Next term we will welcome the old people from the Burier nursing home to St. George's for their annual concert and afternoon tea. Please offer them your time and your smile.
