Trient Glacier

As a follow up to their studies on glaciation, Year 11 visited the Trient Glacier and Gorge on the first of October. By seeing the area first hand, they were able to appreciate the magnitude of the work done by the glacier and finally understand the finer points of how a roche montonée is really formed.  The quick visit to the Trient Gorge  gave our students the chance to show how some simple observation can lead to developing an understanding of the processes at work.

Sadly the weather did not live up to our expectations.  At 6° C and raining, it was not a pleasant day for standing around and admiring the scenery.

Year 11 boys look for the Trient Glacier.  It is pretty difficult in all that rain and mist ... but it looks like they've finally spotted it!

Sorry folks ... very few photos this time due to bad weather!
