As usual the Social Services Committee has been very busy. Here is just a brief synopsis of activities undertaken during the term:
| In September, 12 of the senior girls went to Basel for a day trip with the
pensioners from the Burier retirement home. A very enjoyable day was had by
all. | |
| "Kindness Day" took place on the 1st of October. Chocolate hearts were sold on the
occasion with the proceeds going to handicapped people in St. Legier. | |
| The staff "sponsored cross-country run" also took place in
October. Thank you to all those fit and brave members of staff who
took part - Miss Beckett, Mr Jupp, Mr Chapuis, Mr Ward, Miss Aminot, Mr Hill, Mrs
Urquhart, Mr Onslow, Madame Bodenmann, Miss French and Mr Lineham and to
those who sponsored them. The proceeds from this event were of course
donated to Social Service and there is no truth in the rumour that the
result was fixed!!! | |
| Poppy Selling took place in November. 330 Chf was raised from this
activity. | |
| Many of the senior girls attended the Global Harmony workshop in Lausanne.
Thanks to Mr Dajani for giving us such a worthwhile and interesting
presentation. | |
| Fund-raising this term went particularly well. Year 13 proved to be
very enterprising indeed, raising 1200 Chf. The grand total of 4500 Chf
was raised this term. Thank you to everyone who helped us reach this total. |
Next term we will be holding a Spring Fair and there will be traditional Mimosa selling. We are always looking for new charities to help. If you have any ideas - please let us know.
