Egyptian Day was held on Friday the 22nd of November. On this day, Year 3 had a fun experience learning about how the Egyptians lived.
Here is a brief account of the day courtesy of Isidora from Year 3.
On Friday morning my class started getting ready for the Egyptian day.
When I had finished my wig, I started to put pasta into patterns but before we
did that we had to get dressed for the photos.
I made a wig. I drew some Egyptian pictures, wrote my name on and glued
some black stripes to make us look more like Egyptian people with long, straight,
black hair.
After we had made our necklaces and wigs we put on some make-up. After
that we had some Egyptian food and drink and there was our cake that we had
baked. There were figs and grapes to eat and to drink there was hot milk
with honey, grape juice and the best was Egyptian "beer"! I
think everybody had fun, even the Mums.
