When the field trip destinations were announced, Year 13 were excited to learn that they would be going to London. However, after the horrific attacks of September 11th, London seemed too great a security risk so, in just over a week, an alternative field trip within Switzerland was arranged by Mr Shaw and Miss Hickey. It could never have been as exciting as London, but St. Gallen and the north east of Switzerland proved to have plenty to offer!
There were the usual activities: sightseeing, art galleries, museums and shopping but, in addition, there were trips to Lichtenstein for wine tasting, Davos, Klosters, the Rhinefalls, Zurich, Winterthur, Appenzell to watch the manufacture and tasting of the famous Apenzeller cheese, not to mention visiting the smallest and highest brewery in Europe at Monstein. All in all an excellent trip - thoroughly enjoyed by all concerned. Hope you enjoy just a few of our snaps ...
