Year 11 Field Trip to Florence/Disneyland Paris

Accompanied By: Mrs Ward, Mr Ward, Miss Adair

After days of heavy rain, floods drew a question mark over our field trip destination.  ‘They’ll cancel the field trip!’  ‘It’s going to take us fifteen hours to get there!’  Those were remnants of Monday morning’s confusion.  By noon, however, everything was sorted and I’m certain that no one was disappointed that instead of going to Florence, we headed off to Disneyland, Paris.

We were lodged in rooms of three at the wild western style Cheyenne Hotel.  The atmosphere was perfect and we prepared for several days in a land of fantasy; lamppost-swinging here we come!

The whole Tuesday was spent in the theme park as well as the Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.  A trip to Versailles and another to the Eiffel Tower was our culture quota so as to classify it as a ‘field trip.’  But the change was not unwelcome and the History students were eager to see the Hall of Mirrors – the place of the signing of the Treaty of Versailles – about which I became rapidly enlightened.

Thank you to Mr Ward, Mrs Ward, Miss Adair and Year 11 for changing our ill-fated Florence trip to Disneyland an adventure field trip extraordinaire! with so little notice.

Being in Year 11 does strange things to you ... obviously!!  These people think they are bears.  From the left  there is Judith Bear, Jenny Bear, Ugurcan Bear and Lizzy Bear.

While these people obviously have an even more
serious identity problem!!!
