Bonfire Night
Bonfire Night took place on the 5th of November 2000. This year we added several new elements to Bonfire Night. In addition to the usual food stalls, manned by staff and students, we added other stalls such as a second hand book stall, card stall, game stall, mulled wine, raffle and many more.
For the first time ever, "George Money" was used for purchasing items on the night. Customers simply exchanged their Swiss Francs for "George Money" at the St. George's Bank!! and then could purchase goods with their "George Money" tokens.
The "George Money" proved to be a huge success, avoiding the necessity to have vast floats of change at each of the stalls. Thank you to the I.T. Club (Fabian, James, Michael, Yashika, Francisco, Edgar, Nicholas, Rachita) who manufactured the "George Money" under the supervision of Miss Hickey.
As usual we had our House Guy Competition - With just 40 minutes to design their entry, the Houses had a difficult task ahead of them. Judges Mrs Fowler, Miss Duerden and Miss Sedgwick voted Diana's Guy the winner.
The proceeds of Bonfire Night raised some 1,023 SFR. Well done everyone, thank you for your support.
